Father’s Day originated in the United States , because the American daughter Sonora Smart Dodd out of the gratitude of a Civil War veteran named Henry Jackson Smart. His wife died while giving birth to their sixth child, leaving Henry Jackson to care for and raise his child without any help. However, that didn’t stop him from doing so lovingly at Washington’s farm.

While listening to her mother’s sermon in 1909, Sonora Smart Dodd had the brilliant idea to celebrate Father’s Day. She originally proposed June 5 as her father’s birthday, but the date didn’t pan out.
However, the idea of introducing Father’s Day has gradually gained social acceptance. In 1924, President Calvin Coolidge was charged with supporting this National Pope’s Day. Finally, President Lyndon Johnson signed the proclamation in 1966 proclaiming the third Sunday in June as Father’s Day in the United States.
The celebration quickly spread throughout Europe, Asia, Latin America and Africa; but what is Father’s Day celebrated? It is a day designed to pay homage to the figure of a father and acknowledge the role he plays in the education and upbringing of children.
